Summer goes too fast!

Yup... it's been quite some time since our last post. I apologize for that and it is totally my fault! Our summer got away from us and the odd thing is that we didn't really do much this year. Typically we are gone on vaction to Utah or Washington, but this year we camped it at home. I was in school all through summer (and still am...) and the kids just hung out. They got to go to the local YMCA day camp the few days a week I was at school, but that was the extent of what we did. When I look back on it I am amazed at how fast it went when we really did nothing special. We spent a lot of time with our great friends Jackie and Rory. Our family owes a HUGE thanks to them because with Jason gone this summer it was them who really came through and helped us out!! They spent every Tuesday and Wednesday night at our house just to be able to take the kids to their day camp because I had to be to school so early in the morning. Jackie really went above and beyond to help us out and for that I am forever thankful! They ROCK! As I said earlier Jason has been gone most of the summer. He took a sales job that had him traveling out of state, but he will be home next weekend and will stay home (until next summer when we start all over again). The kids are starting school on Wednesday. Keelan is going to start kindergarten.... I know... I can't believe it myself! Addi will be starting the 3rd grade.... again... I know... I can't believe it! They are both looking forward to it, but I still think summer should have a few more weeks. I'm just not ready for it to be over!

Enjoy the slideshow! We love and miss you all!

Addi's b-day and our first swim day!

It has been a long time since the last post. SORRY! Time flies by when you are crazy busy and moving. It will be nice and mellow for a couple of weeks though and I am really looking forward to it! I just took my final exam for my first semester of nursing school and passed with flying colors. I got a 95% on the first section and a 96% on the second. I ended the class with an A so I am thrilled for that! One semester down, three more to go. As far as the kids go they are doing awesome. They are enjoying the bigger, more roomy house. There is much more room to spread out and they have found places for most of their stuff. The house is mostly unpacked and settled. We do have some stuff still in the garage, but I'm in no hurry to bring it in. The kids went swimming for the first time at the new house. They had a ball. No way would I get in because it is no where close to warm enough for me (water was only 76 degrees), but since we are supposed to be in the 100 degree mark for most of the week I may be getting in towards the end of the week. I took some pictures of the big day so we hope you all enjoy them! Hope everyone is doing well and we miss you all!!

Guess what.......

Addi got braces today!!! Yup, you read that right.... braces. She is darn cute with them too. She chose light purple and pink colored rubber bands for the brackets this visit. She is starting out on the right path to take care of them too. She has already brushed her teeth every time she eats something. Hopefully that habit will continue! She will have them for almost 2 years and eventually she will have to have headgear as well, but they figure that won't begin for several more months. We'll keep you posted, but wanted to share the pics with all of you! We miss you all and hope you are all doing well!!!

Sorry it's taken so long....

Yup... been a while since the last post. Sorry about that! It has gotten crazy around here. As most of you know I started school again and the kids are both still in school so the days fly by and before you know it, a month has flown by. Keelan has had some trouble with his ears lately. One of his tubes came out and we're not sure if the other one is still there. He has such a bad infection that we can't seem to get rid of (tried several antibiotics now). With the infection we can't see into the ear canal to see if the tube is there or not. His teacher stopped me yesterday and mentioned that he has been talking louder and not hearing well. Neither of those are good signs. We'll see...... School for me is going really well. I am finished with the lab portion and now begins the clinical portion where they let me "try" out my new skills (like injections and catheters) on real people. Be thankful you are not residents of a long-term care facility near me. ;p Addi's school put on a production of the opera "Song of Hiawatha" last night. It was wonderful! They were able to secure a theater at the Mesa Arts Center and they did a great job! They did the production with another local montessorri school. Addi played a bird and a villager. She was also understudy for the starring role. She kicked opera toosh!!! She was awesome!!! Our friends Jackie and her daughter Rory bought tickets and came out to show support for our opera star. They brought her flowers too! Enjoy the short show we created!! We miss you and love you all!!

Christmas 2008

Christmas has come and gone and it has left a huge mess at my house to clean up! It's well worth the mess to see the kids' faces when they see the tree with the gifts underneath and while they unwrap their gifts. We had a wonderful Christmas! Jason's parents arrived on Christmas Eve to surprise the kids. Boy were they surprised! It was great to have family with us on Christmas. The kids woke up about 5:30 and went to snuggle with Grandma and Grandpa. They were able to contain themselves until about 6:00. I got up and started the coffee and got the camera ready. Once all the adults had coffee it was go time! It was a mad dash!! We started with stockings and went straight to the gifts. There was wrapping paper flying everywhere! Addi wanted an iPod so we gave her an iPod shuffle. Keelan wanted his own video game so we were able to find a lightly used Nintendo DS (original not DS Lite). Addi also got a digital camera, clothes, Wii and DS games, and the whole Harry Potter series in a boxed set. Keelan got trucks, clothes, Legos, art stuff, and a Wii game. The kids also got an indoor trampoline that they are really enjoying. We love you all and hope you had a wonderful Christmas!!

Talent Show Nov 2008

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I did not make dinner at my house this year because we were invited to a wonderful meal that was prepared by our friends the Brodskys. We had a great time and the food was delicious! On Wednesday the kids had a talent show at the school and I was able to get a friend to record parts of it for me so that I could share them with you. I would like to write more, but most of us (including me) are under the weather today and nap time is calling! I have created a slide show for you with a couple of pictures and a few videos of their performances. As always we miss you all and hope you enjoy the slide show.
